Gestational Diabetes Management

High priority and accelerated version of Live Life program designed to begin in the 6th month of pregnancy and continue through birth.

Gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) is a type of diabetes that develops during about 3% of pregnancies, usually between the 24th and 28th week, and often ends at childbirth. GDM is detected by standard prenatal blood testing. Health risks to mother and child are minimized with proper GDM treatment.

Good nutrition, exercise and blood sugar monitoring are important elements of a successful pregnancy. Diabetes Clinical Services has designed a condensed version of its Live Life – Diabetes Lifestyle Management Program for pregnant women with GDM in order to quickly control hyperglycemia and ketosis and ensure the best possible outcome for both mother and child.
